Intense Pulsed Light Therapy is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment designed to improve the appearance and quality of the skin. We can offer a package of treatments to obtain optimal results. The treatments take 30-45 minutes and are scheduled 3-4 weeks apart. Maintenance treatments are recommended once or twice a year.

HOW IT WORKS

Icon™ utilizes optimized pulsed light technology which, unlike lasers, uses many wavelengths of light with special filters that deliver the best wavelengths to treat specific aesthetic conditions. As the handpiece glides over the area being treated, specialized pulses of light are delivered into your skin and target brown spots, sun-damage and vessels without causing harm to the surrounding skin. Once these targets absorb the energy they are destroyed and will slowly disappear through your body’s natural healing process. You will see your brown spots turn darker in color and flake off over the next few weeks. You may also see an immediate improvement in your vessels with a continued clearance over the next few weeks.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Before the optimized pulsed light handpiece is used, a gel is applied to your skin where you will receive treatment. You will also be provided eye shields to protect yourself from the light during treatment. The treatment will begin with the provider guiding the Icon™ handpiece over the treatment area. You will feel cooling while the handpiece is gliding over the treatment area to provide a comfortable session. You may also feel a slight rubber-band like snapping when the energy is being delivered into your skin which disappears almost immediately however, a warm sensation after the treatment is common. Depending on the size of the area, treatments can take just minutes.

Bandages and ointments are not necessary due to the nature of the treatments being so minimally invasive. For a few days after your treatment, you may feel like you have a mild sunburn but can resume your normal day to day activities immediately following treatment.

HOW IT WORKS

These are prescription medications injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines. When you squint or frown, the muscles between your eyebrows contract, causing the skin to furrow and fold. Over time, as your skin ages and loses some of its elasticity, these repeated contractions can cause persistent frown lines. Botulinum toxin type A – the active ingredient – acts on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting.

WHAT TO EXPECT

During treatment, which usually takes about 10-20 minutes, your doctor will inject the neurotoxin into the muscles in your forehead and around lips. No anesthesia is required; however, your physician may use a topical anesthetic or cold pack to reduce any discomfort. You may begin to see visible smoothing as early as 3-4 days after injection. The typical duration of effect was up to 3 months in clinical trials but may last significantly longer or shorter in individual patients.

Fillers

As you begin to age, you naturally start to lose collagen, which causes your skin to lose structure and volume. Wrinkles also develop thanks to relaxation of dermal collagen and elastin, hyper dynamic facial muscles and expression, sun exposure, and cigarette smoking. Fillers placed perfectly restore the appearnce of lift, tighness and volume without making look like you had work done.

HOW IT WORKS

Dermal filler treatment involves a gel-like substance (natural or synthetic) being injected into target areas of the face with a cannula or needle. The filler plumps the skin from the inside out and works in place of lost fat and proteins to smooth lines and wrinkles and volumise hollow areas.

There are different types of dermal filler substances (some temporary, some longer-lasting, some thinner, some thicker), including calcium hydroxyapatite, polymethylmethacrylate and hyaluronic acid. Some semi-permanent brands of filler - including Sculptra and Radiesse - work by not only filling out lines and wrinkles, but by also stimulating the body’s own collagen production. These fillers usually last upwards of one year.

But, hyaluronic acid fillers - which include brands like Juvéderm, Belotero and the new RH collection - are the most popular and most commonly used. A naturally-occurring substance produced by the body, hyaluronic acid is a prized skincare ingredient which has huge hydrating abilities. This type of filler is popular for lots of reasons, but one of the biggest is that it’s temporary (lasting roughly 6-18 months, depending on the brand and area injected).

WHAT TO EXPECT

During treatment, which usually takes about 30-60 minutes, your doctor will inject the filler- many of which have anesthesia in the filler.  There will be immediate results, after just one treatment. Common side effects include swelling, redness, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site. These usually resolve in a few days. In areas like the lips, it can take 7-10 days for the swelling to resolve, and to appreciate the final results. Some fillers like Sculptura, work by stimulating collagen production in your skin, and so, these may continue to show improvement months after your treatment.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Because the dual treatment only minimally impacts the skin’s surface, recovery time is quick. Typically, you can resume regular daily activities the same day as your treatment although due to some redness and swelling you may experience a day or two of “social downtime”. You may see results in facial veins immediately after the procedure along with a darkening of the brown spots. These spots will flake off over the next one to three weeks, revealing a glowing appearance. Lastly, you will see progressive results on any fine lines, wrinkles or scarring over the next six months as your skin naturally responds to the treatment

AQUAGOLD microneedling

Aquagold is a revolutionary microneedle device that contains 24 karat needles, each of which is smaller than a hair follicle. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is the primary ingredient in the treatment. It offers the following benefits:

Botox or Xeomin to shrink pore size and reduce sebum production. Reduces redness from rosacea and overactive capillaries. (Toxins used in Aquagold Fine Touch will have no effect on muscle, but reduces pores, sebum, restricts capillaries to reduce redness, your skin will return to you ‘normal’ after approx. 4 weeks. The muscle relaxants provide a natural, gentle smoothing of the skin.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Patients may experience slight redness depending on how sensitive their skin is. This will subside in 10 mins to 1 hour. Results of Aquagold Fine Touch can be seen immediately, the skin is left hydrated and glowing. Results continue to improve over the coming days and weeks after having an Aquagold facial treatment.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The handpieces will glide over the predetermined treatment areas while you sit or lie down in our treatment room. Treating the entire face can take approximately 30-60 minutes. If you would like to treat a specific area, such as the delicate areas around your forehead or eyes, the procedure can be completed in as little as 30 minutes. Since there is no downtime with TempSure, you can return to your normal routine immediately. After the procedure, your skin may feel noticeably tighter and more radiant.

Individual results will vary, depending on the concern(s) you are looking to address. Additionally, new collagen growth can take time. Ideally, 3-5 treatments are recommended at 4-week intervals to maximize the collagen rebuilding process. You may experience slight redness after the procedure, which is caused by the skin’s elevated temperatures during treatment, but it will quickly subside.
